The Snow Goat Story

This website is run by Ebony McKenna, who wrote the Ondine series of sweet romances, which were first published by Egmont publishing in 2010 in the UK. Ebony is Australian, and dearly wanted her strange stories of young love, witchcraft and a sarcastic talking ferret to take over the world.

Well, they sort of did, and they didn't. The first two books in the series earned incredible reviews from enthusiastic readers and critics alike. Alas, even with the best success in the world, publishing is a business. The numbers didn't number the right way. Ebony received her rights back and she set about writing and self-publishing the next two novels in the series, along with a companion book of fairytales, fables and folklore.

Ebony also writes historical romance as Ebony Oaten. She began translating her books in 2025 and quickly realised she was losing far too much money to the retailers. The more affordable she made her titles, the more the retailers took in commission! So, the next step was to create a publishing imprint and set up an online store and dedicated website.

The First Champion Snowgoat is story #1 in A Brugel Fairytale Treasury. This collection of far-fetched fables is a much loved book from Brugel. Every child is given a copy for their 12th birthday, along with the four-part trilogy of Ondine novels. It's a tradition!
